Steve Winwood is an English singer-songwriter and musician who has a net worth of $50 million. He is best known for his work with the bands Traffic, Blind Faith, and The Spencer Davis Group. He has also had a successful solo career, releasing nine studio albums and numerous singles. Winwood was born in Handsworth, Birmingham, England on May 12, 1948. He began playing music at the age of eight, and by the age of fifteen he was a professional musician. He joined the Spencer Davis Group in 1963, and the band had several hits including "Gimme Some Lovin'" and "I'm a Man". In 1967, Winwood left the group to form Traffic, which had hits such as "Paper Sun" and "Feelin' Alright". In 1969, Winwood formed the supergroup Blind Faith with Eric Clapton, Ginger Baker, and Ric Grech. The band released one album before disbanding in 1970. Winwood then embarked on a solo career, releasing his debut album, Steve Winwood, in 1977. He has since released eight more studio albums, including Arc of a Diver (1980), Back in the High Life (1986), and Nine Lives (2008). Winwood has also had success as a live performer, and has toured extensively throughout his career. He has won numerous awards, including two Grammy Awards, and has been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a member of Traffic.
